Internet spam abuses have killed several other Antarctic discussion boards that allowed unregistered users to post messages. For this reason, all IceBoard.org users are required to register and login before posting anything. We know it’s a pain but that’s the way things are these days.
If you make your email address or profile information visible to other IceBoard users, they may see it and contact you. In general, we think this is a good thing — but there are no guarantees that some jerk won’t abuse it. To protect your privacy and keep spammers from obtaining your primary email account, we recommend using a “throw-away” email account (such as yahoo or hotmail) when registering. The email address you use, however, must be valid because a registration confirmation may be sent to it before you are allowed to post messages. (This process can take a few minutes — your patience is appreciated.)
Aside from the profile you permit other registered users to see, IceBoard.org will not release your email address or information to anyone. Period.
If you have suggestions or comments to improve the security or privacy of this board, please post them in the site admin forum.
