hi all,the woods hole oceaographic institution (whoi) recently installed a webcam at palmer station. the latest image can be viewed at their mirror site:http://4dgeo.whoi.edu/tsg-data/last_image.jpgthe purpose of the camera is to watch for icebergs in a area where they are thinking of placing an automated underwater observatory. theyʹre also monitoring the water conductivity, temp and flourescence. this url includes a smaller, automatically updating webcam image, plus the thermo-salinograph data:http://4dgeo.whoi.edu/tsg/for those of you familiar with palmer, the camera is located in the south window of the vlf/clean-air hut and normally slews back and forth from southeast to southwest. the station itself cannot be seen out this window.at this time of the year there is very little sunlight, so your best bet to see anything is to view it mid-day, est.g
